THE MARATHON VERT PROMOTES THE VALUES OF SOLIDARITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ITS ECOLOGICAL COMMITMENT.
Born of the meeting between Daniel Jeulin, founder of the Marathon Vert, and Jacques Rocher of the Yves Rocher - Institut de France foundation, this environmental ambition is reflected in the association of the race with tree planting.
Over the 6 events on offer, every kilometre run has been part of this approach for 13 years. ‘1km run = 1 tree planted’, with the Yves Rocher Foundation under the aegis of the Institut de France.
In 2024, 237,114 km were covered by Green Marathon participants, meaning 237,114 trees were planted!
In 13 years, Green Marathon participants have planted 1,581,318 trees in Germany, India, Portugal and France.
